Puppy Guarantee
Harris Hunting Retrievers guarantees that the puppy you purchased is in good health at the time of delivery to the buyer. We guarantee the puppy to be free of hip dysplasia and hereditary eye problems up to twenty-six (26) months of age. Seller does not guarantee against worms, parasites, viruses or bacterial infections or any other genetic or congenital defects other than against hip dysplasia at the time of sale or thereafter. You do understand that even though we have taken the time and expense on health screening before mating our Labradors, that there can be no guarantee that the puppy/dog is completely free of genetic defects.
For this guarantee to be valid, the pet must not have been bred or sired a litter. This guarantee is in effect until the puppy reaches 26 months of age. If the dog has been bred prior to obtaining OFA and CERF clearances, this guarantee is void. It is understood that hip dysplasia can be caused by poor nutrition or injury and that the pet is guaranteed to the extent of genetic hip dysplasia only. We do not guarantee against elbow dysplasia, PRA, EIC, CNM or anything else. Seller is not responsible for any vet expenses incurred by the pet or the buyer.
Harris Hunting Retrievers puppies must be OFA x-rayed between 24-26 months of age for this guarantee to be valid. No breeding of this dog shall take place until after the OFA x-ray has been taken and evaluated to protect from genetic diseases being passed to future generations. The OFA x-ray must be submitted to and evaluated by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, Inc., 2300 E. Nifong Blvd, Columbia, MO 65201-3856. The registered owner of the dog must send a photocopy of the results to us. If you breed the dog before it has been OFA x-rayed and evaluated, the genetic health guarantee will be null and void.
In the case of a congenital problem, the dog purchased from us must be spayed or neutered within 10 days of your notification from the OFA. This measure is to prevent any breeding of an affected dog. All expenses incurred to keep and treat your dog, now and in the future, will be the sole responsibility of the registered puppy owner. Your vet must send us documentation to our address that the hip dysplasia was indeed genetic (not due to injury or accident). Microchip # must appear on all required documents. You will receive a puppy of the same quality and sex from the next available litter. We retain the rights to have the dog examined by our veterinarian,
